He is known for his views on Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism, and for his contribution to the development of Neo-Confucianism. In addition to his philosophical works, Wei Xi was also active in social networks, and had close connections with other scholars, officials, and literati of his time. This study aims to examine the thoughts and social network of Wei Xi, in order to gain a deeper understanding of his intellectual and social context. Research Questions: 1. What were the main philosophical views of Wei Xi, and how did they influence his intellectual development? 2. How did Wei Xi connect and communicate with other scholars, officials, and literati of his time? 3. What was the role of Wei Xi in the intellectual and cultural life of the Tang Dynasty, and how did he contribute to the development of Neo-Confucianism? s: This study will use a combination of textual and network analysis s. The primary source for studying Wei Xi s philosophical views will be his own writings, especially his major works such as the Yijing Commentary (易经注) and the Record of Virtuous Deeds (德行录). The social network of Wei Xi will be reconstructed by examining his relationships with other scholars, officials, and literati through their correspondence, biographical records, and historical documents. Network analysis techniques such as centrality measures, clustering algorithms, and visualization tools will be applied to analyze the structure and dynamics of Wei Xi s social network. Expected Outcomes: The expected outcomes of this research are expected to provide a comprehensive understanding of Wei Xi s thoughts and social network, shedding light on his contribution to the development of Neo-Confucianism and his influence on the intellectual and social life of the Tang Dynasty. The study also aims to demonstrate the value of combining textual and network analysis s in studying the intellectual history and social networks of ancient China.
