GLE1期末复习归纳 一.基本词性 There are 8 common parts of speech in English Nouns (名词) Pronouns (代词,代名词代替名词或者名词词组的单词) Adjectives (形容词) Verbs (动词) Adverbs (副词) Prepositions (介词) Conjunctions (连词) Interjections (感叹词,感叹语) 1. Nouns (l)There are three main categories of nouns 一 Persons 一 Places 一 Things Living creatures Ideas or concepts (2)Common and proper nouns A common noun is a general label given to a kind of person, place, thing, living creature or idea. 一 Examples president, country, book, whale, religion. A proper noun names a specific person, place, thing, living creature or idea. 一 Examples President Obama, China, Pride and Prejudice, Shamu, Buddhism. Proper nouns must be capitalized. 2. Pronouns(代词) (1)Kinds of pronouns There are many types of pronouns. In this course, we will focus on four types 一Subject pronouns 一Objective pronouns 一Indefinite pronouns Possessive pronouns (2)Subject pronouns Always function as the subject of a sentence. Below are sentences that use each of the subject pronouns as subjects. Singular 一 I ate the last piece of pizza. 一 You are a very fast runner. 一 She left a book in my car. 一He bought a hamburger. 一It had begun to rain. 一 Plural We always work together. 一 You get bonuses every month. 一 They joined the choir. 3 Objective pronouns Always function as objects in a sentence.
